Back in 2017, in anticipation of a pending remodel at her Los Angeles home, Melody Scott Thomas — the soap opera veteran best known for her decades-long portrayal of Nikki on “The Young and the Restless” — auctioned off many of her belongings in an online estate sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. “Our house was built in 1989 and the bathrooms and kitchen needed updating,” she said at the time.
Now, a few years later, the 65-year-old actress is cleaning the slate once again, this time selling the entire property for just over $6 million, as first reported by Mansion Global. Property records show the buyer is Paul Yoo, an L.A.-based retail, media and tech investor and consultant, who paid $1 million less than the original $7.3 million ask; still, that’s still significantly more than the $2.3 million Scott and her husband, TV producer Edward Scott, doled out for the Storybook Tudor-style place back in 2001.
Perched high atop Mulholland Drive, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in the exclusive guard-gated community of The Summit, the stone and half-timbered structure has five en-suite bedrooms and nine baths spread across 6,000 square feet of light-filled living space rife with rich hardwood floors, wood paneling and coffered ceilings. Glitzy amenities range from a gym, library and grand entry foyer adorned with soaring beveled glass windows, to a subterranean wine cellar with a tasting room.
